Thermoelectric Cooling
Enhanced Detector Stability
In noise-sensitive applications, many customers cool their photodiodes to reduce thermal noise and achieve optimal performance. GPD Optoelectronics offers single- and dual-stage thermoelectric coolers built into TO packages with our photodiodes.
Thermoelectric Cooling is an effective, solid-state solution for improving detector performance by actively reducing the package temperature. By integrating thermoelectric (Peltier) coolers directly into photodiode and detector assemblies, GPD enables precise thermal control that lowers dark current, reduces noise, and improves signal stability in demanding applications. Thermoelectrically cooled detectors are especially valuable in low-light, infrared, and high-sensitivity measurement environments where temperature fluctuations can significantly impact accuracy and repeatability. With no moving parts, thermoelectric cooling offers reliable, compact, and maintenance-free operation. It can be tailored to meet specific performance, power, and packaging requirements across a wide range of detector types.
