Multi-cell photodiodes incorporate multiple segmented light-sensitive regions within a single sensor, allowing precise detection of optical position and movement across one or more axes. By comparing signals from each segment, these detectors deliver high-resolution beam alignment and tracking for demanding industrial, scientific, and instrumentation applications.
Quadrant Photodiodes
Our Standard InGaAs quadrant photodiodes feature four separate active regions on a single detector. Each segment produces a current proportional to the light’s position, making this configuration ideal for precise position detection and alignment tasks.
Octo™ Photodiodes
The GPD Optoelectronics Octo™ Position Sensitive Photodiode (PSD) is a monolithic optical sensor designed for dual-scale beam position detection using a concentric, segmented architecture. The device comprises eight active photodiode elements arranged as two nested quadrant detectors.
