Tetralateral Photodiodes
Continuous Position Sensing
Tetralateral Photodiodes from GPD are optical detectors designed for continuous, gap-free position sensing across a large active area.
Using a tetralateral photodiode architecture, they convert incident light into precise X- and Y-position signals, making them well-suited for accurate beam tracking, alignment, and motion monitoring. Their large sensing areas and broad spectral response support stable, high-resolution measurements in demanding optical systems.
These sensors are ideal for applications such as beam alignment, optical metrology, and two-dimensional position sensing, where smooth, continuous tracking is required. By eliminating dead zones found in segmented detectors, tetralateral position sensors allow small or moving beams to be tracked reliably without loss of accuracy, supporting both laboratory instrumentation and industrial alignment applications.
