Two-color or Sandwich detectors are typically used for measurement applications requiring increased spectral range, or to take remote temperature measurements. These detectors have one photodiode mounted over a second photodiode of the same or different material. Many standard and custom combinations are available using the following materials: silicon, germanium, InGaAs, and extended-wavelength InGaAs.
